When was the last time you thought about mall security?

Hi guys!

Today I have a story to share!

Ok, so not too long ago I was at the mall (check out one of my favorite outfits from my Fall Haul) just in my own world shopping for some Fall goodies and I stumbled across this little office. I had to find out what that was about. It turns out that it was a safety/security office! I was surprised and very happy to see it because I have never seen one of these offices at the mall before, and I never really stopped to think about safety at the mall. I just automatically feel safe.

But, there are people who go to work everyday basically to protect everyone in the mall. This mall always has so many people there; it’s huge so, that’s a pretty serious job! A lot of the times kids 15 or 16 years old will go to the mall to hang out with their friends unsupervised. It sounds like a fun and younger kids can’t with until they get old enough to do the same thing with their friends but, if you think about it the mall is a huge place with tons of strangers from all over.

It’s ok if your parents know where you are and you are responsible enough to be aware of your surroundings, but at a young age going out to a movie or to just hang out at the mall unsupervised can also be really unsafe. I don’t think it’s good for kids my age and younger to be in the mall without a parent or adult because we aren’t responsible enough to stay safe in a public place; we are so focused on our friends, or having fun, or shopping, that we don’t pay attention to the other people around us. Now I get why parents don’t let their younger kids go to the mall without the. Anyway, this is just my opinion on the situation. Leave a comment and tell me what you think about it.

Thanks for reading!

Bye for now!

Love,

Belle
